Whitney Houston's death: No foul play; singer found in bathtub, says coroner

The Los Angeles coroner said no foul play is suspected in the death of singer Whitney Houston, confirming her body was found in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills hotel room.

The coroner in Los Angeles said no foul play is suspected in Saturday's death of singer Whitney Houston, whose body was found in a bathtub in her Beverly Hills hotel room, Reutersreported.

An autopsy was completed Sunday, assistant chief coroner Ed Winter told journalists, but the cause of the 48-year-old's death would not be known until further toxicology tests were completed in about to six to eight weeks.
Winter said foul play was "not suspected at this time," and that Houston's body showed no visible signs of trauma.
The autopsy was performed at the request of detectives investigating the circumstances of Houston's death, the BBC reported.
Winter would not comment on rumors that Houston had drowned in the bathtub, and was possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol:
"I'm not going to comment on any of the meds or prescriptions that were obtained. I'd just comment that she was found in the bathtub ... I believe somebody removed her from the bathtub and the paramedics didCPR on her."
Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown, 18, has been released from Cedars-Sinai Hospital after being treated for “stress and anxiety,” ABC News reported.
Meanwhile the music world paid tribute to Houston's life and career at the 54th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday evening – with host LL Cool J opening the event with a prayer for the singer.
